Honglak Lee is currently the Chief Scientist of Artificial Intelligence and Executive Vice President at LG AI Research, as well as a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to his role at LG AI Research, he worked as a Research Scientist on the Google Brain Team. He received his Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department at Stanford University in 2010, advised by Prof. Andrew Ng. His research focuses on deep learning and representation learning, covering areas such as learning from minimal supervision, transfer learning and generalization, and reinforcement learning and sequential decision making. Dr. Zafer Sahinoglu is currently the General Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Innovation Center (MELIC Ventures), which was launched in April 2021 as the innovation and investment arm of Mitsubishi Electric in North America. He is also serving as VP Innovation at Mitsubishi Electric US (MEUS). In MEUS, he developed and launched SaaS businesses and new products in logistics, air mobility, energy management, smart infrastructure, human machine interaction, and connected vehicles. Scott Walbrun is a principal venture capital investor at BMW i Ventures, the independent venture capital fund managed on behalf of BMW Group based in Silicon Valley, where focuses on Series A & B investments in clean energy, AI/ML, software, mobility, and intelligent supply chain.
